1.Why choose us?

2.Who is eligible to apply a maid?

Singapore citizens, Permanent Residents and foreigners (holding valid employment or work passes), you must have a valid reason to employ a maid, but subject to MOM approval.

 

3.What is the levy?

The normal Maid's levy is $265.

 

4.Do I need to apply a medical insure for maid?

Employers are required by the Ministry of Manpower to purchase a minimum of $15,000 coverage on personal accident for the maid.

 

5.Is medical test compulsory for maid?

As per MOM medical examination is compulsory , it has to be done within 14 days up on arrival in Singapore. In addition, the maid is required to undergo half yearly medical screening to ensure that her health continues to meet MOM’s standards.

 

As an Employer, you are liable to pay full cost of the medical expense, including hospitalization. So its better to have insurance coverage for hospitalization expenses for your maid.

 

7.Can I employ a MAID on part-time basis?

Presently MOM regulation does not allow the part-time employment of maids.

 

8.Is there any concession available for levy?

Following category maid employers may eligible for a levy rate of $120/month

  • Young child/grandchild scheme
  • Aged person scheme
  • Persons with disabilities scheme

 

9.Is Maid levy eligible for tax relief?

You are eligible if:

  • you are a married woman and has elected for separate assessment; or
  • you are married and your husband is not resident in Singapore; or
  • you are separated or divorced or widowed and living with your unmarried child for whom you can claim child relief.

 

10.Can I get refund on the maid-levy paid during the period that my maid goes on home leave?

Yes, you can receive a refund for the maid-levy paid for the period your maid is not in Singapore. You can go to any CPF branch, and produce your maid's passport to support your claim for refund.

 

11.Do I have to pay the maid salary when she goes on home leave?

Depending on the employment contract you have with your maid.

 

12.Why must first-time maids attend the Settling-In Programme (SIP)? Can my maid be exempted?

As the SIP is a mandatory programme for all first-time maids prior to deployment in Singapore, no first-time maids will be exempted. The SIP is focused on adapting maids to working and living in a foreign, urban environment and observing work safety.
